Objectives of Stage 3/2024
The main objective of the stage carried out in 2024 was to develop the experimental module of the portable device for the wearable sweat monitoring system. To achieve this objective the following activities were pursued:
- Integration of microfluidic membrane into multi-sensitive wearable system;
- Coupling and integrating the portable multisensor patch and the opto-electrochemical detector into a portable device;
- Design and development of functional hardware modules to be implemented in a bracelet;
- Testing and demonstrating the functionality under controlled and real conditions of the portable device for monitoring sweat analytes. Fine-tuning their technical performance;
- Filing a patent application;
- Dissemination and communication of results.
Results of Stage 3/2024
- Development of an experimental model of a portable and wearable device for monitoring sweat bioanalytes;
- Demonstration of the functionality of the portable and wearable system under controlled and real conditions;
- Filing 2 patent applications with OSIM;
- Dissemination of results – 2 ISI-listed articles were published, 1 workshop was organized, results were presented at four international conferences in the form of 2 posters and 5 oral presentations;
- Participation to 3 international invention fairs: ITE 2024, London, United Kingdom – Gold Medal, INOVA2024, Zagreb, Croatia – Silver Medal and KIDE2024, Kaohsiung, Taiwan;
- A working meeting was held at the Turkish partner, Necmettin Erbakan University, Konya;
- The Scientific and Technical Report has been drafted.

Working visits of partners
During September 04-09, 2024, the working group from the coordinator of this project, ICECHIM, together with a researcher from the partner company Chimgrup SRL, were on a working visit to Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya, Turkey, a partner in this project. During this visit, experimental determinations were carried out with the functionalized nanomaterial, fullerenol, synthesized by the Turkish partner. On this occasion, Mrs. Dr. Ana-Maria Gurban and Mr. Epure Petru gave presentations at the Sixth Biosensors Congress held in Konya, Turkey and participated with posters. Also, discussions were held between the Turkish person in charge of this project, Mrs. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saniye Soylemez and Mrs. Dr. Gurban in view of participating in other international project competitions.
